2021 Samurdhi Beneficiary Empowerment Program
There are 05 Samurdhi Bank Associations in the Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat. There are about 8813 family units receiving Samurdhi benefits. 1360 beneficiaries are to be empowered.
Accordingly, the allocation for the Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat is Rs. 68,000,000.00. The allocations are for agricultural projects and home gardening, animal husbandry, fisheries, home-based industries and entrepreneurship development, job-oriented vocational training and marketing.
Rs. In addition to the sum of Rs. 68,000,000.00, arrangements are already being made to provide credit facilities for livelihood projects through Samurdhi Banks in Ginigathhena, Polpitiya, Vidulipura, Hatton and Norwood Zones in the division.
The following projects are planned to be implemented in accordance with the Industrial Development and Marketing Development Program in accordance with the existing social environment and economic environment.
It is proposed to implement marketing development programs for 20 families of Samurdhi beneficiaries. These include handbag making, confectionery production and marketing, tailoring, snack trade, coconut products, catering services and beauty.
In addition, there is a growing focus on small and medium-sized retailers and industrialists. Under this, Juki Machine and Sewing Machine supply projects for the garment industry, refrigerators, scales and other kits for home businesses have been identified.
It is also planned to conduct training workshops on innovation and value added products and 2021 Samurdhi Abhimani Trade Fair at the zonal level (in anticipation of the New Year 2021) by a group of small and medium enterprises, women entrepreneurs.
